The Jazz Parlour is an intimate performance venue, small by design, only 30 patrons, located in Albany, Oregon. This is a new venture, both for the mid-Willamette Valley and for its hostess, Mary Arnett, although she has had over 25 years experience in co-producing the Otter Crest Jazz Weekends, and Salishan and Skamania Jazz Parties, along with many other smaller live jazz productions.
The Jazz Parlour features a great Steinway B, and all performers are "on stage" in keeping with the concept of presenting jazz in optimum surroundings, both for the artisan and audience alike ... stage, lighting, good acoustics. The room is designed with the listener in mind--comfortable chairs, and tables for food and drinks.
The usual format is: Sunday afternoon performances featuring two sets of music with light fare and beverages provided. Generally, the musicians are presented in duo or trio combinations, although when the event is more of a "party" atmosphere, we bring in drummers and guest artists.
